With a Learner Focus, one might ask what a student, seeking to read, engage in research, or use resources, would need to know how to do by the end of Grade 3, or Grade 7, or Grade 10. Or what a student who is communicating what he has found and "processed" as he read, researched, or otherwise utlized resouces for learning, would need to know how to do by the end of Grade 3, 7, or 10.
This represents a shifting of the CUBE of strands, benchmarks, and learning dimensions from the focus on the STRANDS to a focus on THE LEARNING DIMENSIONS.
Here is our first draft, where green represents Grade 3, blue represents skills added by end of Grade 7, and burgundy represents additional skills for Grade 10.
